Volunteer Interns Wanted
NBAC is searching for motivated, enthusiastic volunteer interns to assist with our four weeks of Swim Camp this Summer. Work one week or all four. Dates are June 21-25; July 5-9; July 19-23; and July 26-30. Prior to employment, applicants must be coaching members of U.S. Swimming and certified in Coaches Safety Training, CPR and First Aid. Must have three reference letters. Opportunity to work with Olympic Coaches Murray Stephens and Bob Bowman, members of the North Baltimore Aquatic Club coaching staff and campers from all over the country and around the world. Five sessions limited to 180 campers per session. A staff of 50 and three instructional sessions per day, ensure the individual attention necessary for significant improvement. Program Description:
Springfield YMCA, Springfield, IL has openings on the swim team coaching staff. The SPY team is a 140- member age-group team. SPY is a YMCA focused team with year-round and USA competition options. Currently, the team swims in a 4-lane pool with some early am slots but primarily with late afternoon, evening and Sunday practice times. An indoor community pool and an outdoor 50 meter pool are available on a limited basis. The team is comprised of social swimmers to national qualifiers in keeping with the Y rules for competitive sports; Everybody swims, Everybody wins. In 2010, 59 swimmers competed at the Y Area meet which is comprised of 49 Y teams from Illinois and Missouri. In this meet the team placed 4th in the boys (10-1st place finishes) and 5th in the girls (4-1st place finishes). Additionally, there were three YMCA National Qualifiers. We conduct a strong summer program and compete in USA Swim meets, The team has several Illinois Senior State, Illinois Age Group Championships, and Mid-State Zone qualifiers. In the fall of 2011, the Y will open an 8-lane competitive pool with meet seating, parking and advanced technology. There is a strong parent advisory group and the competitive program is an integral part of the Y aquatic program. The Y’s instructional program serves over 400 youth each 8-week session.
The team currently has a vacancy in the head coach position. We will explore two options to fill this vacancy. In option one, we would fill the position with a full-time exempt staff person. Option two would be splitting the full-time position into two part-time positions, Team Manager and Head Swim Team Coach. Based on the applicant pool, we will decide which leadership option is best for the team. In addition, we are recruiting applicants for the position(s) of Assistant Swim Coach

2010 STANFORD SWIM CAMPS
Camp counselors/coaches needed for this Nike sponsored swim camp. Work with and learn from Stanford Head Men’s Coach Skip Kenney and Head Women’s Coach Lea Maurer as they provide 4 sessions of instruction on the beautiful Stanford University campus. Camp instruction will have a unique focus on stroke technique and mechanics. Prior to employment, applicants must be coaching members of U.S. Swimming and certified in Coaches Safety Training, CPR and First Aid. Dates for the 2010 camps are 6/19-24, 6/26-7/1, 7/3-8, and 7/10-15. Base salaries adjusted by experience. The camp provides room and board. All staff will receive a Nike Camp apparel package. The Longhorns Swim Camp at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking mature, motivated, and team-oriented individuals to be part of its 33rd year! Exciting opportunity to work with our internationally known staff: head coaches Eddie Reese (2008 head men’s Olympic coach), Kim Brackin (2008 international Olympic coach), and assistant coaches Kris Kubik (2009 World Championships coach) and Jim Henry. Guest coaches/speakers include Olympians Ian Crocker, Aaron Peirsol, Garrett Weber-Gale, Eric Shanteau, and Josh Davis. Six one-week sessions (May 30–July 9).
