July 12, 2010 Let's NOT be so modestabout Mr.Commings' accomplishments.

He's already world record-holder in the 35-39 50 breast per FINA's a latest rankings and that 1:05.09 moves him into fourth all-time in the 100 breast ranks.

The 35-39 world-record is 1:04.7 and I would think that time is "easily" achieveable @ Masters Nationals next month.

Go for it, JC!

July 12, 2010 Bill,

The last FINA list of Masters world records were released in May 2010, and I am no longer the WR holder in the 50 breast, since it was broken by a Russian swimmer. That same swimmer, Vladislav Bragin, swam a 1:02.02 in the 100 breast at the same meet last November. That's faster than my lifetime best, so there's no way that record is broken by me (two dashes replaced here) or anyone for a very long time.

And I wish I would have swum a 1:05.09.

That was my taper meet for the long course season, since work here at Swimming World will have me in Irvine for Pan Pacs.

It was a treat to race these young kids and see the future of swimming in AZ.

July 13, 2010 What a meet! Was really impressed with the womens breast events, some close competition and fast times. Whew! Also, some not so familiar talent. More, more.
