COLUMBIA, Missouri, July 22. THE USA Swimming Sectional held in Columbia produced a podium double from Kansas City Blazer Shannon Vreeland this evening. The meet is taking place in long course meter format.
Vreeland topped the women's 200 free in 2:03.09, while Rockwood's Lauren Votava took second in 2:04.87. Topeka's Emily Dicus rounded out the top three in 2:04.92. Kansas City Blazer Ben Bravence touched first in the men's 200 free with a 1:53.49. SwimTulsa's East Holloway claimed second in 1:55.78, while Greater Omaha's Will Schuerman posted a third-place 1:56.00.
Rockwood's Haley Spencer cruised through the women's 400 IM with a 4:55.22. Erica Totten took second in 4:58.05, while Vreeland claimed her second podium of the night with a third-place 4:59.80.
Columbia's Scott Martin snatched the men's 100 fly title in 56.21, while Rec Plex Shark Andrew Sansoucie touched second in 56.22 in an exciting finish. Columbia's David Dorak picked up third-place honors in 56.35.
Women's 100 fly results were not made available by press time.
